Post Graduate Exploration

While students met with our Post Graduate Counselor about post graduate plans, the Transition Team will further explore these options with him/her and work to expose them more fully to what these opportunities have to offer.  This could include campus tours, a meet and greet with professors or other professionals in the field and/or other activities that allow them to feel more comfortable making a plan. If students enroll in college courses, they will be supported in communicating with the college and professors regarding accommodations from their IEP.

The Collier Dual Enrollment has partnered with several community colleges to assist eligible students with their passage into college. The participants can include seniors, fifth year seniors and Transition Program students. This optional program affords eligible participants the opportunity to take one or two college classes at their county community college. Preparation includes their studying for and taking the Accuplacer unless they have SAT/ACT scores that would otherwise make them exempt from testing. The student, the student's family, their Counselor and Child Study Team must be in agreement with the decision to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program.
